SCHOOL  AIR GUNNER   U.K.-MAY 11, 1943   TO #20 O.T.U.     "AIR-GUNNER OF A WELLINGTON AIRCRAFT WHICH TOOK OFF ON A CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT OF 6 HOURS DURATION SHORTLY BEFORE 9 O'CLOCK ON THE EVENING OF THE 6TH.  THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN TOUCH WITH BASE BETWEEN 1:30 AND 2 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, AND IT IS PRESUMED THAT AT THAT TIME EVERYTHING WAS GOING ACCORDING TO PLAN, AS THERE IS NO INDICATION IN ANY OF THE MESSAGES RECEIVED THAT THE CREW WERE EXPERIENCING ANY DIFFICULTY.  FROM THAT TIME NOTHING WAS HEARD UNTIL A REPORT WAS RECEIVED FROM R.A.F. TALBENNY THAT THE BODIES OF OF TWO MEMBERS OF THE CREW HAD BEEN RECOVERED FROM THE SEA OFF LITTLE HAVEN NEAR HAVERFORDWEST, PEMBROKESHIRE, SOUTH WALES, AND THAT THE WRECKAGE OF AN AIRCRAFT, WHICH CAN ONLY BE PRESUMED IS THAT IN WHICH HE WAS FLYING, HAD BEEN SIGHTED IN THE AREA."  KILLED-SEPTEMBER 7, 1943   HIS BODY WAS RECOVERED LATER AND BURIED IN BATH (HAYCOMBE) CEMETERY   FROM-SMITH FALLS, ONT.

            DOWN AGAIN, PUT HIS GUN TO HIS SHOULDER A SECOND TIME AND
            PULLED THE TRIGGER.  RAN UP TO THE OBJECT AND SAW HE HAD
            SHOT A MAN.  THE MAN WAS IN A SITTING POSITION LEANING OVER
            TO HIS LEFT SIDE, TOUCHED HIM ON THE SHOULDER AND HE
