“DURING THE PERIOD OF 15 MARCH 1944 TO 8 MAY 1945, MAJOR TAYLOR
CONTINUALLY COMMANDED A TANK SQUADRON IN ACTION.  THIS PERIOD
OF OPERATIONS WAS ONE OF ALMOST CONTINUAL FIGHTING, OFTEN UNDER
MOST ADVERSE CONDITIONS AND AGAINST STRONG POSITIONS.  MAJOR
TAYLOR DURING ALL ACTION LED HIS SQUADRON WITH GREAT SKILL AND
DETERMINATION WITH THE RESULT THAT EVERY OBJECTIVE ASSIGNED TO
HIS SQUADRON WAS TAKEN.  IN HOLLAND, DURING THE ADVANCE FROM
ARNHEM TO EDE SUPPORTING 49 BRITISH DIVISION, MAJOR TAYLOR
PERSONALLY LED HIS SQUADRON OVER MOST DIFFICULT GROUND AND
AGAINST VERY HEAVY OPPOSTION WITH SUCH SKILL AND DASH THAT THE
ENEMY WERE COMPLETELY ROUTED AND THE BRITISH INFANTRY SUFFERED
ONLY MINOR CASUALTIES.  THIS OFFICER’S GALLANT PERSEVERANCE,
HIS EFFICIENCY AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, AND THE HIGH EXAMPLE SET
BY HIM WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN THE EXCELLENT RESULTS OBTAINED BY
            HIS SQUADRON IN BATTLE.”
